Riad Ami Amie
A Hidden Oasis in the Heart of the
vibrant medina of Marrakesh
Behind a discreet wooden door on Derb Boutouil, a different rhythm awaits. Step
inside and you’re greeted by a peaceful courtyard shaded by orange trees, where
birdsong replaces city noise and the scent of citrus lingers. A small plunge pool offers
a welcome cool-down on hot summer days, while in winter, a small heated rooftop
pool awaits for warm, starlit evenings.
Nestled in the vibrant medina of Marrakesh, just a five-minute stroll from the iconic
Djemaa el Fna square, Riad Ami Amie offers a serene escape amidst the sensory
spectacle of the souks. Located in the lively Kennaria district, this charming riad feels
like a world away from the bustling streets outside — where the scent of spices
hangs in the air, donkey carts weave through narrow alleys, mopeds whizz past with
families aboard, and shopfronts burst with colorful textiles, ceramics, and handcrafted
jewelry.
After falling in love with Marrakesh over many trips, the owners purchased this small
palace in early 2024 and brought it back to life with the help of Belgian architect
Quentin Wilbaux, known for his sensitive restoration of traditional Moroccan
architecture. The interiors remain a work in progress — thoughtfully curated with
handcrafted, locally sourced pieces and a minimalist aesthetic that lets the historic
architecture shine. Whether visiting solo, with family (four children in tow!), or a group
of friends, the riad now serves as a beloved home base — and as they say, “the
house for all our friends.”
Our housekeeper Naoual welcomes guests
as if they were family.
Throughout your stay, she’s on hand to answer any questions, prepare beautifully
made beds, and—if desired—serve generous breakfasts and delicious home-cooked
Moroccan dinners.
The rooms of the riad
We absolutely adore the fragrances and flavors of Morocco, so we’ve named our bedrooms after some of the country’s most iconic scents:
Fleur d’Oranger, Mint,Cinnamon, Saffron, and Amber.
The ground floor opens into a tranquil courtyard with orange trees and a cool plunge
pool at its center. Two alcoves offer inviting spots to lounge — one as a shaded
reading nook, the other perfect for an afternoon siesta.
Here you’ll also find the dining room and indoor lounge with a fireplace — the ideal
retreat on crisp winter evenings when, despite daytime temperatures often reaching
20°C and sunny skies, the air turns cooler after sunset. There’s also a cozy guest
toilet nearby.
Adjacent to the lounge is the first bedroom, complete with a private bathroom. Like all
the rooms in the riad, it comes with fresh linens, towels, soap, and shampoo.
Ground Floor: Courtyard Calm & Cozy Corners
ROOM Fleur d’Oranger
A room of soft light and serenity, where the delicate perfume of orange blossoms
lingers in the air like a promise of spring. Fleur d’Oranger evokes warm evenings,
slow breakfasts in the courtyard, and the timeless elegance of Moroccan gardens in bloom.
For dreamers, romantics, and those who love the quiet beauty of tradition.
The kitchen
A hallway off the courtyard leads to a fully equipped kitchen and features a dramatic
atrium extending to the upper floor. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed for
preparing meals at home — from cookware and tableware to glasses and cutlery.
At home in the heart of the riad, Naoual pours love and care into every dish she
prepares — crafting the most flavorful, heartwarming Moroccan meals, just the way
they’ve been made for generations.
First Floor: Light, Space Traditional Charm
A staircase winds upward to the first floor, where a gallery walkway, with an extra
sitting area, overlooks the courtyard below and leads to three uniquely styled bedrooms.
ROOM Cinnamon
A generously sized master bedroom featuring its own sitting area and library
(which can double as an extra sleeping space), a private balcony, and its own bathroom.
Rich, warm, and full of soul — Cinnamon wraps you in the comfort of
Moroccan spice markets and the scent of simmering tajines. Deep earthy
tones, soft textures, and golden light invite you to unwind, linger, and feel at
home.
Ideal for those who seek coziness, character, and a little spice in life.
Room Mint
A second airy bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Fresh, bright, and invigorating — Mint brings the soul of Moroccan hospitality
into the room. Inspired by the beloved ritual of mint tea, this room feels like a
breath of cool air on a warm day, with playful green touches and a calming
atmosphere.
Perfect for guests who love clarity, renewal, and joyful simplicity.

ROOM Saffron
A third, smaller bedroom with two single beds, located just steps from the
shared facilities.
Elegant and rare, Saffron is a tribute to Morocco’s golden treasure. The room
is infused with sunlit warmth, touches of red and bronze, and a subtle luxury
that feels both grounded and refined. A space for inspiration and quiet
confidence.
For the refined traveler who appreciates beauty in the details.
The Rooftop: Views, Sunshine, a Heated plunge pool
And finally — the highlight of the house — the rooftop terrace.
The rooftop itself features a bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and a washing
machine, as well as an outdoor shower for sun-drenched refreshment. A covered
patio provides a relaxed lounge with built-in benches, comfortable sunbeds, and a
large dining table, ideal for long, leisurely meals with friends and family.
But the true showstopper? The heated plunge pool where you can soak in warmth
while watching the sun set behind the rooftops, with the Koutoubia Mosque rising on
the horizon. Whether you’re enjoying a slow breakfast, an afternoon nap in the
shade, or an apéritif in the golden light of dusk.
The rooftop at Riad Ami Amie is a place you’ll never want to leave.

ROOM Amber
Amber is sensual and timeless — a room that glows with soft golden light and
whispers of the past. Deep hues, natural textures, and a calming stillness create a
peaceful sanctuary that invites rest, reflection, and presence.
Designed for those drawn to warmth, mystery, and the poetry of stillness.

Just a few hours west of Marrakesh lies Essaouira, a breezy coastal gem with whitewashed
walls, cobalt-blue shutters, and a laid-back, artistic spirit. Once a favorite of Jimi Hendrix and

woodwork and silver jewelry, or visit the impressive ramparts where the ocean crashes
against ancient stone. Don’t miss the lively fishing port, where you can watch the catch of
the day arrive and enjoy fresh grilled seafood right on the pier.
The beaches, popular with kite surfers and windsurfers, are wide and wind-kissed —
perfect for long walks and sunset views. And with its slower pace, Essaouira offers a
refreshing contrast to the intensity of Marrakesh.
Perfect for: a coastal escape, seafood lovers, art and music enthusiasts, or anyone craving sea air and serenity.
Wellness & Relaxation in Nature
